Snow Day
After a leisurely rest, Robert and I realized that we had no food in the house. FAIL! We decided to make an adventure out of it, and suited up for a walk in the snow to our favorite breakfast spot.
Do you see how tall the snow is?! It came up over my boots!
We passed quite a few cars on the way that didn’t look like they were going anywhere anytime soon. Unfortunately a few of these cars were ours…
We eventually made it to our destination – Ardmore Station Cafe. This little cafe is our FAVORITE place in all of Ardmore. It might not be much to look at, but this place is a hidden gem:
We know all the servers by name, and vice versa. In fact, the weekend after we got engaged, the girls ran up to me and gave me a huge hug haha. They are fantastic! And of course the food is divine too – on Saturday we both ordered a sampler platter of french toast, and split an omelette. (We were famished after all the snow-walking!) My sampler platter included cinnamon crunch with a little schmear of real butter, peanut butter and banana stuffed, and blueberry and cream cheese stuffed french toast. I hadn’t had french toast in eons, but after this plate, I might need to have it more often!
We ate so much that we had to crash in the snow – it made for quite a nice armchair
We decided to walk to Trader Joes and pick up some goodies so we wouldn’t have to leave the house again! On the way, we decided to be silly and take some pictures using the GORILLAPOD! (Love this thing!)
Finally, we made it back through Ardmore. I really love living in a place where not only can you walk to everything, but you LIKE walking there. We have such beautiful houses and neighborhoods, and you can’t help but smile when you walk around.
Once at home, Robert was in charge of making dinner – french bread pizzas! They were a little heavy handed on the cheese and sauce… but we were snowed in! What better excuse is there to eat snacky foods?! We enjoyed our pizzas on a delicious Garlic and Parmesan Bagueutte, paired with some beers from Ithaca Brewery. Snowed in perfection!
It was truly the perfect snow day. The only thing that made the weekend better was booking our wedding date at the church yesterday!!! We’ve picked April 30, 2011 – the anniversary of our first date! We haven’t booked a reception hall yet, as the church and the date are more significant to us. Any ideas for good reception halls around Philadelphia?! Here’s a picture of our church in the snow… hopefully it won’t be snowy next April!!
What did you do with your weekend? Were you lucky enough to have blue skies and warmth?!
Wedding Fever
Good morning friends!
I am SO glad it’s Friday. Between my [parked] car accident on Monday, and all the late hours we’ve been logging all week, I’m ready for a break. Unfortunately, the weather man is predicting a “paralyzing” amount of snow for this weekend, so I might be forced into taking a break – we might be snowed in! Maybe it will be for the best… maybe I’ll finally get to finish Breaking Dawn
Anyway, I have exciting news for you all! Today, I’m featured as a Guest Bender on one of my favorite blogs: Eating Bender. Jenn was so gracious to include me as a guest poster this week, and I had so much fun writing a post about my wedding. I hope you all check it out!
Speaking of weddings, I wanted to show you guys the venue we looked at last weekend. Robert, my mom, and I drove up to Normandy Farms to have a looksie – and we loved it. Take a look for yourself:
I love all the little details in the ballroom, and the fact that it was converted from an actual old barn dating back to the 1800′s! I didn’t take a good picture of the silos, but they were built right into the room and provide little spaces for your coffee bar or wedding cake. It was so neat!
Last weekend, I also had the opportunity to ask my Matron of Honor to be in my wedding. We were roommates in college, and so we relived some of our college days with chinese delivery, girl talk, and lifetime movies (the pregnancy pact was actually pretty good!) Here we are on new years eve:
She’ll be standing up with me, along with my maid of honor (my best friend since 1st grade!) and 3 of my other best girls. I can’t wait!
Anyway, gotta get hoppin on this Friday. Make sure you check out my guest post on Eating Bender!
xoxo,
Cassie

Hello friends,
I’m trying something new. I linked up my wordpress blog to a tumblr - a blog format focused on short, spur of the moment type posts. I know I have lots of full posts to catch you up on, but maybe this way I will keep up on my blog when I only have little things to say or fun pictures to share.
Hopefully you all like this change, and hopefully I do too!
Be back soon!
