Scanner Sunday–Tea for Two

So some of you might know that Robert and I are big fans of tea.  We’ve been collecting antique tea sets from our great grandparents, and even our engagement pictures incorporated our love for the delicious hot beverage!

However, since we already have all sorts of fun mugs and tea kettles, we really didn’t register for much fuel for our habit.  The only exception is the tea set that is a part of our china set (isn’t she a beaut?)

But I can’t help but sneak a peek at some of the other tea sets and accessories that are out in the registry world right now.  In my dream kitchen, some of these lovely pieces would be in my cupboards.  Maybe they’ll find their way to yours!

For those of you who have friends that also enjoy a good cup of tea, I love this set of mugs that nestle into a sweet carrying tray.  There’s nothing worse than trying to juggle mugs full of hot water, so anything that allows you to look like a calm, cool, and collected hostess is worth it in my book.  These mugs are available from Crate and Barrel.

And for everyone who loves their new married initials (or for anyone who just loves their last name, really!) there is this cute set with a monogram.  Pair the tea pot with a mug with your first initial – one for each member of the family!  Perfect for brunch with the family… and you’ll never worry whose tea you’re drinking!  Both the tea pot and the mugs are available from Pottery Barn.

If I were living in a cool, modern loft, I would totally want this tea set in my home.  Its silver tone is reminiscent of a classic tea pot, but with a fun new shape.  Tea is such a warm comfort, but this cool cone shape adds a bit of playfulness.  I found this set at Bloomingdales.

And finally, for all of you who might be like me and already have too many mugs and tea pots, I’m sure you can fit a few little accessories in your kitchen!  I am loving all of these little guys from Crate and Barrel…

A tea infuser stick for the delicious loose leaf teas:

A tea box so that your tea cabinet looks nice and organized (unlike mine!):

And last but not least, this adorable teabag rest will give you a place to put your teabag after it’s been steeping.  No one wants a bitter cup of tea (or a mess on the coffee table!)

Are you a tea drinker?  Or do you always start your day with a cuppa joe?

Scanner Sunday–Gold Plated

Good evenings my loves.  Today I set a special table – one perfect for your special holiday gathering.  I’ve been loving this Lenox “Gilded Tapestry” china for ages, but Robert just wasn’t feeling the floral .  I thought it was sophisticated and playful at the same time, and the colors just pop off the table.  By pairing it with a little glitz on top of a more natural table linen, you can avoid making your dining room feel too matchy-matchy.  Throw in a few crystal glasses for a classy touch, and you’ve set a holiday table to remember.  Be sure to invite me over so I can live vicariously through your china Smile

Scanner Sunday – A Teal & Red Kitchen

Hey friends. So here’s the first scanner Sunday… oh you know – on Tuesday. Ive been swamped trying to get ready for Christmas, so I had all my pictures ready to go, but I still needed to write! Anyway, here we go.

Some of you might have seen some pictures of the kitchen in my apartment. It’s tiny, and humble. But it’s got these red countertops that just pop out at you and beg for some decoration. Through the past few years that we’ve lived in the apartment, I’ve gone through a few decorating daydreams for the kitchen. There was the cute 50’s diner phase, where I pictured shiny crome appliances and cute little café curtains. Then there was the yellow-and-red phase, complete with dreams of some cutie rooster dish towels that I put on my registry. Finally, always in the back of my head was this little cutie combo. The teal and red together looks so fresh and happy… but unfortunately a little too “girly” for the fiancé. (Wah.) So here I have created my vision just for you. (And for me too, for when I daydream.) Picture this look in a bright and sunny kitchen, with white cabinets and a cute little breakfast nook. Wouldn’t that be just the happiest place in the house?

    Hello friends,

I’m trying something new.  I linked up my wordpress blog to a tumblr - a blog format focused on short, spur of the moment type posts.  I know I have lots of full posts to catch you up on, but maybe this way I will keep up on my blog when I only have little things to say or fun pictures to share.

Hopefully you all like this change, and hopefully I do too!

    Be back soon!

    - Cassie
